Pumping a week or two before giving birth?

So, I was wondering if it would be possible or okay to pump a week or two before giving birth. I'm 27 weeks and the pressure is already immense and I can't stand it.. Please no bashing... FTM

I don't think it will do anything Hun. Your milk doesn't fully come in until at least 2-3 days after baby is born

I would not do it. Stimulating the breasts this early can make you go into preterm labor.

If you are producing colostrum, you can hand express or you can pump. But you absolutely have to stop of you start feeling contractions. Although pumping shouldn't cause contractions unless your body is ready. You can freeze the colostrum you collect. 
Also, you will continue to produce colostrum until you give birth so don't worry about "running out"

Unfortunately your milk doesn't actually come in for about 2-3 days AFTER baby is born. So pumping too early could contract your uterus and send you into preterm labor. It's not reccomended. Take a hot shower. Sleep without a bra. Get a warm towel and place on your breast to relieve swelling.

In my breast feeding class I was told it's ok to self express (but not pump) if you have pressure or pain, but not to do it regularly as it can cause pre-term labor. Also was told try a warm compress first! 
Personally I'd call your doctor or L&D just to be on the safe side!

Not until you are full term, so 38 weeks at the earliest as due dates are -/+ 2 weeks. Also make sure you discuss it with your OB first, if you are high risk then you will likely be told not to pump. You won't get much out as it's colostrum first and be sure to save and freeze for baby. Your milk do ant come in until up to 72 hours after baby is born as they eat so little at first.
