Anyone douche? Advice?

Hi! So my partner and I were talking about sex today and we were talking about how vaginas smell. Mine doesn't ever smell bad, but sometimes it smells like... well a vagina. And usually during certain times throughout the month the smell is a tad bit stronger. Everything is normal, but sometimes I just don't like the smell. He said that with his ex he just told her to
Douche and his mom and sister do and that maybe I should try it. I've done it before in the past. Anyway I know it's not recommended but anyone out there who does douche have any recommendations! How do you feel and smell after? Do you see a difference?

It's supposed to smell like a vagina not flowers and sunshine. Please do not take advice from your boyfriend in vaginal health unless he is a licensed physician or has a vagina of his very own.

Douching is not recommended and advised against. It disrupts the natural bacteria in the vagina, causing the bad bacteria to outgrow the good, in rapid fashion.

Just use a warm cloth more frequently throughout the day when you feel this way. Soap is not needed for a quick wipe down.

Douching is actually not good for your vaginal health. It's a temporary solution, but can lead to  worse odor down the line because it wipes out your natural flora. Try probiotics and drinking a capful of pure apple cider vinegar once a day.

Douching is TERRIBLE for your vagina. Your vagina is supposed to smell like a vagina! They only smell like lavender, roses and candy in literature lol.  The vagina is a self cleaning organ. As long as it's not foul smelling and or itchy you're fine. And word to the wise men do not know crap the vagina (unless they're doctors of course) don't listen to him!

Vaginas are supposed to smell like vaginas lol. When there is a odor or marks it's cleaning itself mostly because of sex especially unprotected sex which is normal. Check in with your doc but usually they say it's normal discharge is normal.

Douching can lead to bacterial vaginosis and yeast infections..way worse than your normal vagina smell, and I don't want to know why your bf is talking and douching with his mother. Ew.
