Is it weird to have your baby's godparents younger then you?

I'm 23 will be 24 soon. My husband is 24 will be 25. But my cousin and his gf are around 19 or 21 I believe. So what do you think?

The godmother we chose for our son is younger than we are, the godfather is older. She is my best friend, he is my husband's best friend. They are each married to other people and live in different places.  They can be whoever you want.

I don't think it's weird at all. I think if something were to happen to both of you and you know they could take the proper care of your baby and they will be active in the child's life as of now age should not matter

God-Parents are supposed to take financial responsibility of your child if something were to ever happen to you or your spouse. You should be very careful who you ask to be the God-Parents of your child. You want it to, preferably, be a husband and wife to give the child stability and for them to have a stable income.

I became the godmother to my cousin and niece when I was around 14 and 16 years old, respectively. In my situations, godmother is more of a guidance role - not as a caretaker in case something would have happened to the parents.

I think it really just depends what role you'd like the godparents to have.

My daughter is 6 and my little sister is 4(my real dads daughter) so my daughters aunt is younger then her....now that's weird!

In my opinion I feel like people throw the whole 'god parents' word a little too loosely. And I don't mean your situation, I just mean a lot of people I know do. A god parent is in case something happens to you and your spouse they step into the role and financially and otherwise support your children until they are adults. Just because you are best friends and grew up together doesn't mean a thing when you have no job, no house and cannot support yourself. That being said, I don't think she is a factor because you can be 18-19 and in a good position money wise. You can be 40 and not have your shit together yet. It's all about who the people are. To me, god parents are very important and some people just throw the term around.

The decision is yours and your spouses. I would also talk to the people you are thinking about and see what their thoughts are. Sorry for my rant.
