Is it weird to give your child a nickname that doesn't "go with" their real name?

I want to call my daughter Minnie as a nickname. (My best friend who passed nickname was Minnie and my great grandmother's first name.) But I can't decide on a name that has an M and an N in it so that the nickname Minnie will go with it. I've thought about Madelyn or Melanie but I'm not sold on those names.
