first time protection talk

So my boyfriend and I both want to take things to the next step and he's prepared with condoms but even though I'm 19 I really can't talk to my mom and ask her about getting on birth control because she would be so disappointed in me. Should I try and go to a doctor and get on the pill (I don't know who my family doctor is rn.) or is it safe to do the condom+pullout+plan b Method?
