tattoos in a school?

Alright, so I'm going to be working in an elementary school as a teacher for my career. I want to know if any of you other ladies work in the school system and know what the policy is about having visible tattoos? Obviously they can't be vulgar but if they're fine are teachers allowed to have tattoos visible?

I had a math teacher in high school who had a bunch of visible tattoos and piercings, nothing negative was ever said about it.

My crossfit coach has a body full of tattoos. I'd make them so they're easy to hide... she teaches grade 4. The kids saw them for the first time and were all fascinated! Most schools don't care if they're not vulgar. But yes, you can get hired. She also has a nose piercing (nose hoop), lobes, 2nd lobes stretched (like noticeable but not too big), a rook, a tragus... and she's had a couple others before. 🤷🏼‍♀️ just find a schooo that doesn't give a shit

I've actually wondered this myself since I'm contemplating becoming a kindergarten teacher.. I'm stuck between that and a counselor but at this point I'm kind of leaning more toward the teacher but I'm still unsure. Going to put time toward thinking this over lol... I've always wanted to work at the school that I graduated from but I believe their rules are to cover em... I honestly believe that you shouldn't have to hide your tats since they're a form of creativity and your personality (id decline working at a place that doesn't allow me to express myself) but I guess some people have diff views in the workplace... I'd just say find a place that you're comforrvake working at where you can do what you want & love it every day

I live in Scotland and work in schools for the past 4 years. My previous school would not allow you to show your tattoos. My current nursery school allows me to. I have been told to show my tattoos with pride. Even the head of centre has tattoos. I have both feet/lower legs and back tattooed.

it depends on where you live, who you're teaching and what school board you're with

I've never seen one and my cousin who is in charge of hiring teachers said that any visible tattoos need to be covered while in the workplace. She said that people who refuse to cover tattoos or have one in a place where it can't be easily/comfortably covered (neck, face, hands)  just don't get the job no matter how qualified.
