getting off birth control

I am getting off birth control after my current pack. I have been on this brand for 4 years and have never gotten a period with it (common according to my obgyn). Before this BC I was on orthro tri cyclin low and had a period around 5 days. I have been on BC for 12 years so I don't really remember what my period was like off BC. How should I record my last period in the app for the most accurate ovulation timeframe? My husband and I are not trying to get pregnant right now, just wanting a more natural birth control method.
