breast feeding or formula?

Who's going to breastfeed and who's not? I honestly don't want to breast feed due to me having to go back to work when my time is up and pumping takes a lot. I would rather get the bottles ready with formula and go. What do you think?

I know breastfeeding is better and obviously cheaper but to me it is awkward. I don't feel comfortable with my baby on my boob all the time. Also I may only get 4 weeks-6 weeks off work and I don't want to have to go through all that work just for a month. And pumping constantly and if it doesn't stop right away I'll be at work constantly changing pads and my boobs will be hurting since I'm not releasing the milk. I just feel like it's such a process. Also I am on medication and that can get passed through my milk. It's already going to the baby while being pregnant I'd rather not expose my baby to it longer.

I pumped for 8 months and since you asked what I think, I think it's selfish to give formula without trying to pump breastmilk ✌🏻

Breastfeeding is so good for their immune system. You could breastfeed until you go back to work and then if you don't want to pump you can do breastfeeding at home in the morning and evenings and formula during the day. That way baby will still get the immune benefits. My 4 year old son brought home 2 pretty bad illnesses from preschool, his middle brother so is 2 caught them both, my 5 month old who is breastfed didn't the first time and only very mildly caught it the second time. For that reason I'd try the breastfeeding if youre willing, even if you then have to add formula.

I nursed in the hospital and was able to for 2 weeks and my supply dried up i was upset about it but then started formula which 1 large can that last about 10 days is $32 so i wish i would have produced enough to breastfeed.

I sincerely want to try to breastfeed for the first year, but that's just because it's something I've always dreamed of doing. I like the idea of being able to feed my baby whenever they need on demand without any prep work, and the benefits of breastfeeding are also important to me. But I am also very realistic that not everyone can breastfeed and that babies need to be fed however a mother chooses.

I'll breastfeed for at least the first six months. I have no problem giving formula as a supplement after that. With my nine month old I breastfed for first 7 months and started supplementing at 8 months. He's now drinking formula only with the exception of the frozen milk I have.
