Do you let your baby cry?

If you know your baby is fed and changed but their crying will you just let them cry sometimes?

I let my baby fuss but not cry.
I never will ... Though I have put her down to get a break, I always come back after a 3 minute breather

Yup. Once they are old enough. You can't do cry it out with infants but older babies it's fine. Every older kid I've ever nannied, babysat, my step sister, and my God daughter were all given a 10 min max and only one child ever out cried that max. And she only did that once.

There's no point in letting babies cry until a certain age.

I never did cry it out until he was 10 m. And then only when I put him down. If he was hysterical I go in there. If he is quiet crying or fussing, I let him go a few min. If he isn't calm within 5-10 min I go in there. Research says there is NO benefit from cry it out. It adds stress to the baby, doesn't teach self soothing, and teaches them they can't rely on parents.

Although I get the idea behind cry it out, I personally don't like it and won't be doing it. If my baby is being fuzzy I'll leave him alone to help soothe. And if he starts crying, I'll wait a minute or two and then pick him up get him calm and put him right back down. If he cries again I repeat the process. I may end up picking him up and putting him down a few times but to to me this seems more effective than letting him cry it out.

If I need a moment to myself for sanity or I'm going to the bathroom then yes. I don't really like the cry it out method though

Yes depending on how she sounds.  There's a difference between the im-so-tired cry and the im-dying-or-something cry. If she's tired and clean and fed I'll let her cry for a few minutes and if she doesn't settle I'll pick her up. If she thinks she's dying that's different and I'll go get her right away. Although honestly sometimes she cries whether I'm holding her or not.

I hate the cry it out method. I can make the baby develop a hearnia and separation anxiety. I've never done it. Fuss yes, but not cry or holler.
