anyone have a husky around their baby?

I have a 2 1/2 year old Siberian Husky & he is mine and my fiancée world! He's so lovable but extremely hyper! We didn't introduce him to the baby right off hand because our baby was born prematurely and we wanted to gradually do it when the baby got better. Has anyone had a problem with their husky being around the baby? Thanks in advance!

My mom had a day that she run when I was a teen. We had a malamute that was hyper and loved to play. He was great with the kids. Never hurt any of them.

I haven't had my baby yet but my husky was around a baby and they owners had to get rid of her because the baby was allergic. But my dog and that baby were best friends. I also know someone with a husky and a newborn and she says she's great with him. She said the only thing is she very protective of them.

We have a 135lb German Shepherd who is GREAT with babies and kids. I think it just depends on the personality of the dog.

My baby isn't due for another month, but I have a husky/german shepherd mix and he is pretty hyper, but very loveable. We got a second dog about 8 months ago...a little yorkie, and even though there is a huge size difference, our big dog is so gentle. He wouldn't hurt his little brother and clearly loves him. I think you should be fine. Just slowly introduce your baby. Maybe take a blanket or something with your baby's sent on it to help get your dog use to it and then have them interact in short intervals.

I have a 1 year old high strung Australian Shepherd who is the epitome of energy and she is the best puppy to my 6 month old. She's even so calm and relaxed when Ellie reaches out to touch her fur or her face when she walks by the babies chair.

We introduced our fur baby to our daughter outside in the courtyard of our apartment before bringing them in the house together.  We also brought her the babies onesies from the hospital for the two days I was hospitalized so she could smell Ellie and get accustomed to it.

We have never had an incident thus far. Nike lays on the floor by Ellie when she does tummy time but she doesn't get too close. She also checks on us during bath time because she hears Ellie splashing in the tub.

Dogs can be taught to be gentle and loving. No matter how hyper the breed.

I don't have a husky but I have a shiba Inu that is so hyper. He met my 3 month old nephew yesterday and I was so scared because he is usually jumping all over everyone and likes to play bite but he came right up to the baby and laid by him and gave him kisses. My pit bull is the same way. I think they might know their limits with babies.
