Can my newborn have infant formula?

I am breastfeeding, but I am not producing enough to fulfill my LOs (who is 3 weeks old) appetite so I have been giving her newborn formula after. I'm almost out of my last can of newborn formula but have a few cans of infant formula. Is it ok to supply her with infant formula until I can restock my newborn formula?

Yes. There's no difference. And ignore the lactivists. I had low supply too and supplemented until I stopped nursing and switched fully to formula. Don't feel guilty for how you feed your baby. Fed is best.

When my daughter was born I didn't produce enough either and they had me give her infant.

What makes you think you're not producing enough? (Curious not trying to sound rude)

I would talk to a pharmacist to double check if you should give your newborn, infant formula. Usually it says on container what age to use it. The formula might be slightly different. Hard to say. Did you check the label? Does it say any of that information on there? Good luck

Over here we have stages. 1 is 0-6 months. I had my son mixed feeding from day 1.

If you must use formula then I'd stick with newborn to avoid an upset stomach. It's normal for them to want to feed A LOT in the first few weeks up till around 6 weeks. They are trying to increase your supply. The more they feed the more milk you will produce. So she is more than likely getting enough. If she's gaining weight and having plenty of wet diapers every day then she is definitely getting enough and formula is not needed. Just keep feeding her on demand and your supply will build up. If you feed her less and use formula then your supply will drop further. Good luck!
