Is your son circumcised?

Question

I'm trying to decide if I really want my son circumsided. As I have never been with a man who wasn't. I've been searching and reading but nothing is really swaying my decision. Any thoughts would be great. I am pro whatever you do in your life doesn't concern me so if you have any negative rude comments please just keep them to yourself. This is to help me make a decision.

I won't do it because it is purely cosmetic at this point. When people weren't able to bathe every day it was hygienic but at this point that is no longer a factor. It is also pretty much just popular in the U.S.

If that's what you chose, you do you, but I'm not going to do it just because American culture has decided cut looks better than uncut.

I am having a boy also and i am not having him circumsized . My husband isnt but that isnt jist the only reason im not.  Im not having it done because i feel god made him the way he is and its just painful for the baby and i would not put my baby through that . He is being made the way god wants him to be.  Just my opinion but everyone has one so its really up to u . I just feel its unnecessary pain to put him through :-)

I watched a video on the procedure and honestly it tore my emotions up. They don't give baby any sort of pain meds, no numbing agent, they literally strap your babies arms legs and head to a board and proceed to mutilate his poor little body. If I had to make the choice again I'd choose to let my 10-15 year old son decides what he wants to do, plus they can have pain medication and be completely knocked out during the procedure. It may be a little extra work for you keeping it clean and what not, but men have lived for centuries being uncircumcised. Would you mutilate your baby girls body just because society said that it was what you're supposed to do?

If we have a boy we will be circumcising mainly because my husband is circumcised.  My thoughts are it's better for baby to be same as daddy for 1 because then when they start getting curious they won't feel bad about looking different than daddy and 2) it's much worse it get it done later in life if he decides he wants it done.
I also believe it's easier to keep clean and care for.
Sexually, it does take away some sensitivity in the penis head allowing him to last longer 😜

My boyfriend isn't circumcised and at first we weren't going to have our oldest son circumcised, but my boyfriends mom said we really should. My boyfriend was born in a small hospital in Honduras, back in 91 so I'm not sure if it was a common thing there or not. But we are expecting another boy in April and he will also be getting circumcised. My oldest barely cried having it done and his healed really quickly.

We had our son done. My husband was circumsized and is happy his parents made that choice. My father was not cicumsized and despite good hygiene he has had nothing but issues with it that only get worse as he ages. Very happy with our choice. My son didn't even cry, healing was easy.

If we have a boy, we will be getting him circumcised for a few reasons. 1, SO is circumsised. 2, I'm an RN and have dealt with way too many neglected foreskins. 3, my nephew has autism and isn't circumcised and it's causing problems which may require him to get snipped, which I feel terribly about  because how the fuck do you explain to a special needs kid why he has to be put through that (he won't let anyone try to help him work it and it's quite tight). I initially was very against it but I've seen so many issues with them and honestly  I'd rather not have to worry about it. Also since my SO is, I figure he should look like daddy.

Well, I didn't have my oldest circumcised because I was scared it would hurt him. But, once I learned that circumcision is very important to cut back the chances of infections and so forth I had my second child circumcised

My oldest son is and I don't regret it. And ppl please stop saying that baby's aren't given anesthesia. Not every place is like that. Maybe do some research on the hospital you're delivering at. My son had no issues and it healed VERY quickly!  No issues at all. My third now is a boy and he will be circumcised as well. It is easier for him to deal with when potty training. It's already difficult to potty train a boy (my experience I have a boy and a girl) don't want to have to add how he needs to pull the skin back and clean this way etc. on top of risking UTIs because maybe he's not cleaning correctly. Or having my child talked about it him feel ashamed because although not true it's said uncircumcised men are frowned upon or disgusting or made fun of. I rather eliminate that. Because regardless of how much we try to get or kids to believe that words don't hurt. They still do.

My son was fine after about a week.. Just keep ALOT of vasoline on it..
