Adoption

Michele
I am 23. When I was 19, I performed an open adoption. Not to intentionally "give up" my child but because I couldn't afford a child-diapers, formula, etc... the father said to perform an abortion and to be real I just couldn't live with the idea of doing that and then having to live with that idea in my head over & over again every single day. Why do people say.. "Oh you gave up your child". It's not giving up... if anything I made sure he could have a way better life then intended because at 19 I couldn't do it alone. Why do people use the words "giving up" so loosely? I just don't understand. BTW, he's 4 now and living life great. There are some women out there that can't have children and I feel like I've done the right thing.
