Classic hospital birth or birthing center?

I am leaning more towards birthing center birth, due to most doctors wanting you bed ridden, not able to get up walk around, etc. What was everyones experience with this kind of birthing? I want to experience how it is to naturally give birth, how it should be.

You go ahead and give birth "how it should be" (cuz you know what it's SUPPOSED to be like?)  I'll give birth like someone with the NICU and modern medicine within arm's reach if my baby needs it. Lady,  just because you don't feel you know how to be your own advocate as to your wants and needs in a hospital environment, don't make a judgement on what birth is supposed to be for the rest of us.

I'm having an all natural birth in a hospital setting  (as long as nothing goes wrong). My hospital is very supportive and actually encourages natural birth, so everything on my birth plan (intermittent monitoring, no offering drugs without my request, immediate skin to skin, delayed cord clamping, baby doesn't leave my arms the first couple of hours)
Check your hospital's policies. They may surprise you! And even if not, speak up for what you want. Make sure your birth partner (SO, mom, best friend, doula, whoever) knows your wishes and can speak up for you when you can't during labor.

I'm with you on that. As for where it really depends on the dr and the hospital. My first was in a hospital with an OB. She was an amazing dr. She was more by the book then I would have liked but she was also flexible. I spoke with her in the beginning when I was first pregnant and told her I wanted to labor and deliver how I wanted, no monitoring, and no IV. I was able to do all of that until it came to pushing, she wanted me to lay down to push. With our second baby we are going with a center and a midwife. So far they are much more flexible and personal the only down side is I don't get just one midwife, I meet with all of them and whoever is on call will deliver the day I'm in labor. I'd much rather have one person the entire pregnancy and delivery. 
I'm 40 weeks so we shall see how the actual labor and delivery goes in a center with a midwife compared to hospital.
