Today we lived out our worst nightmare. We discovered at 9w1d that our baby didn't have a heartbeat and had stopped growing around 7w4d. We saw and heard a very strong heartbeat at 6w5d so this has been especially hard. My doctor was able to squeeze me in for a D&C late in the day tomorrow which I am thankful for. However, I work in a nursing home which currently has a Flu outbreak. Saturday morning BAM, I wake up with super sudden Flu symptoms. It has been getting progressively worse since then. Today was absolutely horrible. This illness is just insult to injury at this point. I can barely move, i can't sleep, I can't eat, I have coughing fits that produce horrible mucus and my temp keeps shooting up. I asked my doctor and the nurse at maternity if my Flu would change anything regarding the D&C and the reply was no. However, I am seriously concerned about having a surgery while I feel this way. I don't want to risk my health and safety no matter how much I want this nightmare to end. Has anyone else been ill for a D&C? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
