My 4 year old has the worst night terrors and there getting worse 😭I feel so bad for her and I know I can't do anything to help her! But it's now to the point where she's yelling and hitting and telling me she needs more fingers and her eyes are falling out of her head 😩I feel so bad I just want to cry

☹️️ I'm so sorry you're going through this! My now 6 year old went trough this for a few months while she was 5. It is such a helpless feeling. The one thing I did notice with my daughter is it correlated to her needing to use the bathroom, which if you haven't already found, there's info on it being connected for some kids. It was like her body was waking up because she needed to potty but her mind was trapped between awake/asleep. She became violent, one night she bit me, she broke things, it was beyond terrifying. I had many nights of complete breakdowns because I couldn't help her. The entire house would be awake just waiting for it to end. I know it's heartbreaking but stay strong, it should pass and she should grow out of it. If by any chance there's a bathroom connection for your little one, give her a cutoff time for drinks and even try getting her up about two hours after she goes to sleep to use the bathroom and see if that makes any difference for the night. I remember reading about the sleep cycles and waking her up about 2 hours after kind of breaks the cycle and may help her skip the transition where night terrors typically occur. Stay strong! She will likely grow out of it.

I had a ex's sibling with em and I'd hold her while she was having them saying her name repeatedly til she snapped outta it if she wouldn't I would still hold her and say your safe baby your safe I'm here. When I could snap her out of it I would ask her what her dream was about I would tell her that in her dreams she's the boss she can beat up whatever was scaring her imagine any weapon or person to kick some ass  That no matter what happened I was going to be there when she woke up and soon after talking to her about her dreams and asking questions and talking about em she got over em.
