Sprinkle party?

My first was a boy and this new baby is a little girl! Just curious how others feel about "sprinkle parties" is it common? Will it make me look greedy or selfish?

I don't see why a second shower is any different than throwing a child a birthday party every year. They all deserve a celebration. Maybe I don't see it the way others do because I don't really do registries. I'd never expect anyone close to me to buy something expensive like a car seat etc. a little gift from the heart or even a card is just fine with me

In my family, every baby gets a celebration. Sometimes it's more of a get to together instead of a shower, but for us, it's more about the people than the gifts.

It's not like youll need as much this time around. Id be happy if everyone mainly got clothes and then you could fill in the gaps. I don't think it's asking for a lot and I'm sure people are still excited even though this is your second. I think it's a little much for people that have like 3-4 kids but if you have a boy then a girl it makes more sense to me

I'm having a shower for each of my babies. My first two are boys, nearly 3 years apart. My third is a girl. Nobody thinks twice about it around here. Even if you don't need as much, you'll still need diapers, clothes, bottles, etc. my youngest is 9 months and I'm due again in June. But you can bet your booty I'm giving my girl a shower!

I think it's fine. You can make more of just a party to celebrate and not about gifts. Maybe on the invite don't put a registry and just make it very girly for those that may not know. If people want registry info, they'll ask for it.

I'm having a sprinkle, because my boys will be 5-1/2 years apart. Mostly, all my items kept in great condition. I only need a few things.

My first was a boy & then 3 years later a little girl. My friends threw me a surprise sprinkle shower which were just clothes for a girl. I didn't need the big items so I say as long as you aren't expecting people to purchase the large baby items & them to just want to spoil with girl clothes go for it.
