How many night feedings does your LO have?

Pediatrician said my LO is night feeding out of habit!

Sometimes my LO sleeps all night or he's up once. It's not habit for him though, I can literally hear his belly growling, so I definitely get up and feed him.

At least one night feeding is good for your supply (but it won't ruin a supply if you don't have one feeding). Depends on age, but my 6 month old could sleep through the night. If my LO was waking every 2 hours then I would trying to pacify rather than feed. That is what I would call a habit, but 1 or 2 times is fine. Also if they are sick, going through a growth spurt or teething they will wake more, and sometimes that will be one thing after another.

Mine has at least four and I never thought about it that way maybe she's doing it out of habit to because she'll only suck a little  and back to sleep unless I have a let down she'll keep sucking

Typically, my daughter wakes once for a feed but since she started teething, she's up about 3-5 times a night. Teething is definitely worse for her at night even with giving her baby orajel and a bit of baby Tylenol to help ease the pain. She nurses about 5-10 minutes each feed which is also typical for her day time feeds. I'm not worried about it. Just tired!

When you guys say weaning do you mean completely or just at night ?? I didn't know that was a thing. And if so, how do you go about it ? Mine does this exact same thing and I was about to do a post on this! Half of the time she doesn't even eat, just sucks herself right back to sleep

My 6 month old still wakes for a 3am to 5:30am feed sometimes we get a sleep through. Not sure whats different when we get that though lol

My doctor said the same thing. Kind of annoyed me that she told me it's out of habit. I've tried letting him fall asleep on his own but he ends up crying and when I put him on my breast he eats a full meal. He's 18lbs. I know he's big, but idk how to even go about weaning 😭

It is out of habit. PED told me the same at 6 month appt. I've never had any of my other children still need a night feed at this point except for my LO. I barely got her down from two to one feed so I'm gonna let her go a little while longer and then in the next few weeks Im gonna start to dilute the milk. It trains their stomachs to not feel that "hunger" which is really not hunger at all, it's just their tummy clock that they've (or we've, lol) created!

Mine is 6 months now but she kicked her feeds at night at 3.5 months when we transitioned to crib
