Id register for some basic white onesies and socks and hats and dont forget the mittens. But like others have said... everyone will want to pick out clothes for your little one. Its just too much fun and an easy gift to give.

I put a couple newborn pjs/onesies on my registry and I ended up with probably 50+ outfits ranging from newborn to 18months..people were buying me clothes even before I had my shower just for fun(family and friends). But I still got 95% of everything on my registry too.

Everyone generally gets clothes regardless of if you have any on your registry...plus most people get what they like for your baby.
I had a small shower and I didn't have any clothes on my registry and still got a ton.
Besides the pack and play and a few other gifts this is what we got; a ton of it was clothes and we didn't have a single clothing item on our registry.
