Induction stories
I'm 38 weeks pregnant and I was taken in to the maternity ward yesterday because my already pretty high blood pressure got suddenly even higher. Now it's a bit better again, but they want to keep me in at least until tomorrow. If I get any more signs of pre-eclampsia they will start inducing. I was myself born very small via emergency c-section at 38 weeks because of my mom's pre-eclampsia and me not getting enough oxygen, so they want to be extra careful. Our baby girl is measuring a little over 6 pounds and is perfectly healthy and kicking.
It's a good thing I'm here because we have an hour's drive to the hospital from home and here we have all the help we can possibly need if anything happens, but I definitely don't enjoy being here. It's too hot, I barely slept at night and even though I have books and my tablet and my phone I'm still bored to death. I miss my spouse so much, he was here with me yesterday all day but today he had to go to work. He just called me though and we talked for an hour, I don't know what I've done to earn a man like him. ❤
I'm having mixed feelings about induction. I would rather not stay here any longer unless I get to give birth, so I'm going to ask for it if the doctor tells me that she wants me to stay, but of course the best option would be for baby to come out on her own. However I've been so stressed out because of being worried about our baby girl and being constantly (3-4 times a week) in and out the OB's office for my monitorings that it might be the best option for her to come out already. My spouse agrees with this but the doctor said today that for now there is no real reason to induce.
If you were induced, how did it go? How far were you in your pregnancy? What did they use to induce and how long did it take for it to work? Were the induced contractions as bad as they say? What kind of an experience was the delivery? Tell me everything, I have all the time in the world to read 😄
