unpaid FMLA?

How many women are getting unpaid  FMLA? How will you work that out?

I have unpaid FMLA for my appointments or if I get sick during pregnancy just for job security and so I don't have to waste my vacations days. Once I go on maternity leave I get put on short term disability which is 60% pay for 6 weeks.

I get 6 weeks short term disability that runs consistently with my 12 weeks. So technically I'm only taking 6 weeks unpaid.

FMLA is in and of itself just job protection for 12 weeks. There isn't a paid type and a not paid type. Some jobs provide paid leave or short term disability but that's a totally separate thing

I am! I had about two weeks of paid time off, but I took 3 months off. We can afford it. But we also don't buy anything extra like cable and wifi. Just things we need :)

We have the 12 week FMLA however there's no way I can take that and not get paid for 12 weeks. I don't know how some people do it. I have a mortgage to pay for and a million other bills haha. And between my fiancé and I, I make more money. Could we possibly get away with it maybe but I'm not chancing that. so I am taking my 4 weeks of sick time that I have And then probably a week of my pto time and probably a week unpaid that way I get at least 6 weeks.

I am taking my unpaid leave. I am even contemplating not returning to work but we own our own business. So as long as the business is doing good then I won't be returning.

I will have to, since baby isn't due til just after my one year mark. Thankfully though daddy will still have a full time job, where he's only taking two weeks off, and we are stashing our tax returns and my student loan refunds from just starting school, to buy things and pay bills up for our time off.

Mee! I have to use whatever vacation and sick time I have accumulated which I dnt a whole ton since I've been with my job for a year so I have about 3 weeks.. I'll be taking 12 weeks completely.   The rest of the time will be unpaid but I'm taking my income tax money and whatever money I saved to help me out the 2 months and a 1 week I have without income coming in.
