what is the size for Newborn diapers?

I haven't had the baby yet, I'm still not even in my second trimester but eventually I need to start stocking.

There's so many numbers and I have no idea which one is for a newly newborn and how many boxes do you think I'll need until they need a bigger size?

I always start stocking early and if you run into the issue that they outgrow the size you can always take them back and swap them for the size you need. You won't need many nb, I usually buy 1 big box of those and then start stocking 1's and 2's.

Newborn doesnt have a number, its simply "nb" size. The amount you will need depends on how big your baby is at birth. I wouldnt buy more than 2-3 packs before baby is born

I think my baby went threw about 300 newborn diapers then I switched to size 1. Size one is alittle bit but nb was getting to tight for her little legs.

They make specifically newborn diapers, usually labeled with an 'n'. I've personally never seen boxes of them, but then again my local Walmart is horrible about restocking lol so I just might be unlucky! But usually they come in a large pack (kind of like a packing for pads) and it's about 30 per pack, I believe.

(I'm specifically describing Huggies brand, as that is the only brand I use. I believe all others have newborn sizes as well, but don't quote me on it)

Newborn and preemie diapers work very good, initially... size 1s were just too big at first...

Are you having a baby shower? I would have a diaper raffle during it so that you can stock up on diapers that way. I was able to go 8 months after my son was born without having to buy diapers. Also, don't open any packs. Buy any size you want, but if you keep the packs sealed you can trade them in for different sizes. My son never fit into newborn, he was 9lbs at birth, so he went straight into size one. We had to trade five packs of diapers in that were newborn and also had like 400-500 newborn diapers from the diaper cake we ended up donating. I would make sure to have a variety, but keep in mind you can trade in. ☺

Newborn is size nb and I wouldn't stock up on them just yet. I received enough from my baby shower that I had to return a big box because my LO outgrew them after 1 month. I would suggest the smaller packages though because you cannot return opened boxes/packages. It's also hard to know how many diapers you will need cause every baby is different. Plus I had times as I was changing baby she went to the bathroom. Good luck and look for diapers on sale.

Just a thought, instead of stocking up on diapers, why don't you just put the money for diapers aside in an envelope under your mattress or something weekly and save it specially to purchase whatever size you need when you need it. You could even stock up on gift cards to whatever store you'll be using to buy the diapers if you think you'll spend the cash. I only suggest this because you never know what size you'll need and for how long. I had Gestational Diabetes and was told my baby would be too big for newborn anything, he came out 7lb14oz and he's 3weeks now and still in NB size everything! Now I'm stuck having to buy them after stocking up on 1s.
