odds of being induced because Baby is measuring full term late in third trimester...? anyone experienced this?

I'm 38w and Baby is measuring full forty. OB scheduled me in for an ultrasound tomorrow for a better idea. She keeps suggesting I won't need my 40w apt at her office and I'm wondering if anyone has been induced early due to baby's size this late in the game. She said she doesn't want me having a ten pound baby!

I wouldn't get induced based on an estimate of a "big baby". They aren't always right and as another lady mentioned big babies are often easier.

At 35 weeks I was measuring at 38. My midwife sent me in for a ultrasound and everything was normal . I went into labor at 39 weeks , gave birth to my daughter 12/23/16 8lbs 14oz 22inches.

Don't listen to all that big baby bullshit. It's a silly old wives tale. It's very rare for a baby to be too big to be born or for your vaginal canal to be too small etc. Your body can birth your baby it grew. And size estimates are notoriously wrong. Listen to your gut mama.

My friend had 3 kids, ranging from 6lbs to 11lbs, and she said her biggest was her easiest to deliver. I personally wouldn't agree to an induction for a big baby, especially since third trimester ultrasounds can be off by up to 2lbs, but it's up to your and your doctor. ☺️

They set me up a week after my due date i measured 40 at 38 weeks. My water ending up breaking at 40 weeks exactly
