Changing table or dresser with pad? Comment why!

We had a changing table with my first and loved that he was at perfect changing height and all the supplies were easily within reach. However, the changing pad on dresser top saves so much room! I'm a little worried about the pad sliding around and the dresser staying messy all the time. Anyone have opinions?
