I did. Had no pain with the numbing needle. No pain with the epidural needle. Felt my legs, was able to push right.  Had some pain during labor and was able to enjoy the experience. No back pain after. I'm 14 weeks post partum.  Still no pain.
I'm glad I got one.

Nope! 2 natural vaginal deliveries and I will never get an epidural for any future deliveries unless medically necessary.

I had one and I don't think I could have done it without one.  I got the epidural when I was about 7 cm.  It gave me the chance to feel the more intense contractions and realize I couldn't take much more pain.  I'm the biggest baby about needles and I honestly felt numb the whole time I was getting the epidural because of the pain of contractions.  After the epidural I took a nap until I felt pressure and pushed my baby out.  I've heard people say the epidural can make you have to push longer but I think it actually helped me.  I only pushed for 10 minutes and my daughter was born.  You have to do what's best for you! Good luck!!

Every female in my family had an epidural with no negative side effects. It really depends on the anesthesiologist that does the epidural. If its a doctor who is good at what theg do, you will be fine. If you want an epidural, go for it.. This is your birthing experience. If you arent surw, you can wait and if the pain gets to the point where you dont want to deal with it anymore, then get the epidural. There is nothing wrong with not wanting to hurt. I waited so long to get mine because im retarded to pain (i had one for the sole perpose of not wanting to feel any ripping going on down there), that they didnt actually take effect. Sooo i realized, this time, Im doing it without anything even if Im induced. For other women, delivery hurts like hell. Do what makes you comfortable. :)
