Old fashion baby girl name with traditional spelling or modern?

I really like the name Elise, with the traditional (German?) spelling, but my husband thinks everyone will mess it up and say Eliza or something else the first time they read it.

My name is Deena and I get Deanna ALL THE TIME! I don't mind much, it just shows me who knows me vs who doesn't and wasn't paying attention. I'm used to it and correct people often. Slow down and read!

I've never mistaken Elise for Eliza, or vice versa. They're completely different names, in m opinion.

Not hard to read as Elise. And besides, the flip side would be that when she's giving her name over the phone or something people are going to assume traditional spelling 😉 lovely name!

We named our daughter Elise and two older family members called her Elsie in the first month by accident. Once they were used to the name, it wasn't a problem :) We love it!

I like either spelling and don't think Elise is hard to read. My sister's middle name is the same but spelled Allyse.
