3 year old getting tonsils removed.. Any advice?

My Daughter  turned 3 jan 3rd and will be getting her tonsils and adenoids removed February 9th. They will put her to sleep with the sleeping gas and then do her IV After she is asleep.. Then we will stay for 24 hours after before being released. I was told by the doctor to expect a 2 week painful recovery.  She has also never had to be put to sleep for anything before..I'm also worried she will wake up before they come and get me and she will freak out if she wakes up and does not see me or anyone she knows.. I'm a nervous wreck and hate seeing my baby in pain.. I'm also 25 weeks pregnant so idk if that's making my nerves worse. But I am very nervous over this. Any advice from Moms that have been through this with their little ones?

My daughter is now 3 but when she was 2.5 I had the same thing happen to her. I was nervous and scared as well but it's not bad. They'll have you put on a suit so you can follow her into the operating room and hold her hand and talk to her while they put her to sleep. Afterwards my daughter was still sleeping when I saw her. It took a lot energy from her. During the 2 weeks she was fine she still had energy to play .

My daughter had hers our at 6, but she is a heart baby and has had 11 surgeries 5 open heart she is 8 so I am use to surgery, this is what will happen, ypu will be with her up to the moment then need to wheel her back they will give her a drink (usually) to help her relax first, then they wheel her away she goes asleep they do their thing, she goes to recovery where 90% of the time they are still very out of it by the time you get back there so they wake up with you there, recovery for my daughter actually was easy, her throat hurt a little but with tylenol and lots of ice cream lol she was fine. Surgery no matter the size is always scary for a parent but it's an easier surgery and common one. Hope all goes well :)
