No. I went through a lot of pain, both physical and emotional, to create this child and I'm going to own the pain to deliver it too. I almost feel like its necessary for me, I can't explain it. I've been reading Ina May's Guide To Childbirth and I wholeheartedly agree with how she says that modern women are told all about how much labor hurts, birth is terrifying, blah blah. So we go into labor expecting that, and it's all exaggerated by our minds. I'm going to go into it with positive thinking, that I can do it without pain relief and I hope it will help me like it does the women she cares for.

Definitely yes. My second came so fast (an hr and a half after my water broke) I couldn't get it and I was not prepared for the pain. I would say even if you're planning for an epidural, prepare for for a natural birth!!

Birthing at home, so epidural won't be an option unless I transfer to the hospital. If you are anticipating a painful birth, then that is what you will have.
