Hi everyone... my son is officially 1 month old! Yay. Before he was born, before I even got pregnant, I was determined to be successful at breastfeeding... I had him naturally with midwives (because I'd read that meds can interfere with milk production and I was thinking this is what happened with my first) we tried to latch him within the first hour he was born and I honestly can't remember how that went. Everything happened so fast. But anyway, we kept trying and he would latch and it would hurt. The first week he lost 1lb 4oz.... but then the last 3 weeks he's gotten up to 12lb 8oz... (he was 10lb 10oz at birth) but he's still not latching properly... I was told by 1 LC that he has lip tie and tongue tie but everything I read it states that both breast would be painful... I can feed him on my left breast all day with my eyes closed and it doesn't hurt. But my right one.... man it feels like he's chewing on me. It's horrible. I've almost gave up like 100 times... but I keep at it bc he's gaining well... has anyone else experienced this?? Any one? I scheduled with a dentist to have his tongue and lip checked out. I'm kinda hoping that's the problem so we can correct it and I can actually enjoy being a breastfeeding mom.... does this look tied???
