Other people's pregnancies

We all have this. Bumps everywhere, a spring of pregnancies, sisters etc. I knew when it bothered me I would officially be "desperate".  We had the "how much longer will we try" conversation, and a few people have started speaking about grief and for the first time the gigantic reality that this may not happened at all, like I finally saw the elephant filling the room. So of course it has started. Unexpectedly it is the stories of randoms that have caught me, people who know people whose daughter husbands had three more children after the break up with a new partner after having five in the first marriage. Single people pregnant from a one night stand (again). All this fertility for those who are younger, and I feel barren.
