dating scan?

Hey lovelies 
Just wondering is normal not to have a dating scan? My doctor said I didn't need one but I really want one!! 
My first scan isn't till 12 weeks!

I had early scans as I'd had 3 previous miscarriages but you usually only get a 12 week and a 20 week scan. I've always thought it seems a long time to wait to have your first scan at 12 weeks though xx

All dating scans are at 12 weeks.

Dating scans are at 12 weeks! Unless you've got a history of reoccurring miscarriages you won't have one before then. It's totally normal. X

Thank you :) just was getting abit  confused all my friends had scans at 7 or 8 weeks so when my doctor said 12 weeks for the downs scan I was like huh!! 
But you've put my mind at ease thought they forgetting about the scan or something :)!!

I had early daring scans with both my last pregnancies.  No history of miscarriage either.  My cycles were so off with spotting half the month ect..that I couldn't tell the doc when my last cycle was.  Both times I received an early dating scan I was about 5 weeks.  Every office is different and insurance can play a huge roll in how many ultrasounds you get, as well as age,  medical history ect.   I wouldn't worry at all.  It's hard to wait,  bc of course you're ready to see your little gummy bear ... the good news is at twelve weeks you'll get to see an actual baby and not a blob of cells ♢♡ patience love!!!

I had one at 7+3 and wont have one till 20 weeks

I got one scan at 20w to check anatomy. I'm now 32w and don't expect anymore ultrasounds unless a problem is identified.

I had my dating scan at 8 weeks. I actually asked if I could decline it, because I knew they wouldn't even really look like babies yet, but my doctor highly recommended it since I was just got my IUD removed, so my cycle wasn't regular. For me, 12 weeks wasn't dating, it was morphology.
