PCOS and Pregnancy

Aly
I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 13 years old. I had painful cysts on my ovaries plus all of the other irritating side effects that come with PCOS such as extra hair growth on the face, extreme difficulty losing weight no matter what I do, etc... I've had pretty much every symptom of PCOS and I've been on the pill since I was first diagnosed. My cysts are pretty much non existent at this point and some of the other symptoms have eased up, but I still have PCOS and always will.
Now I'm at the point where I really want to try and start having a child with my life partner. I take 1000mg of metformin twice a day and folic acid. I've read a lot of forums from women who said it took them years to conceive due to their PCOS and I really want to have a child before I'm 30 and more complications arise.
I guess the question is... should we start trying? If I get pregnant right away, we're not really ready, but if it takes a couple years... I want to get the ball rolling. Has anyone else had an experience similar to this?
