How do you know your marriage is over?

When you give up.

It's not an option for either of us. We agreed before we got married.

I always say that a relationship has ups and downs. At one point you may love your husband more than he loves you. At other times he may love you more than you love him.

To me a marriage would be over when you stop loving each other at the same time and you both stop fighting for each other.

If you feel like something is wrong talk to your husband, seek counselling, try everything possible before calling quits and using the dreaded d word.

However, a marriage can also be over as soon as one of you lay an abusive hand on the other. I would walk out and never look back if that happened in my house.

You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink. While it's true that as long as your still in it completely you marriage is still good it's a 2 sided coin. If he has already "checked out" then your beating a dead horse to drink so to speak.
