NEED ALL THE ADVICE I CAN GET! No heartbeat at 6 weeks?!

I went to the ER last night due to some cramping that seemed abnormal. When they did the ultrasound my baby was measuring 5wks 6days. They said everything was fine except they couldn't detect a heart beat and to prepare myself for miscarriage. 💔 My husband read up on a few things of not being able to see/hear it until week 10. I just wanna know from you momma if you've ever gotten the same report and still had your baby. I'm hanging on to every last bit of hope. 😔

The same thing happened to me. After a positive result on a pregnancy test I went to the doctor for my first checkup. The doctor said the baby was measuring/looking like 8 weeks. There was no heartbeat and he told me to schedule an appointment to have a D&C. He was so rude and dry. My boyfriend wanted to rip him a new one. Anyway I calmly said "no I'm going to give it a few weeks and if I miscarry on my own then so be it."

I went to a different doctor almost two weeks later and they found a healthy flicker.

9 months later....

I'm so glad I gave her a chance and had faith and put it in God's hands. It freaks me out knowing if I had listened to the first doctor I saw, I wouldn't have this amazing kid in my life today.

I believe how far along you are is a little too early to see a heartbeat but I could be wrong. Either way, I'm praying for you!

Just got out of the appointment. The baby has a heartbeat and is happy and healthy. The doctor was very upset with how the ER treated us. Thank you all for your positive words! ❤

I wouldn't go by anything they say if they said you were measuring at 5 weeks 9 days. That doesn't even make sense. Don't stress. A lot of obs won't even see people until 8 weeks for this exact reason.

Yeah they shouldn't have said that. You don't normally see a heartbeat until 8 weeks

This exact thing happened to me. 6 weeks no HB 7 weeks no HB 8 weeks 3 days HB detected (: sounds like it's just to early momma hang in there!

5w and 9d isn't a thing weeks change on the 7th day. 
If the ER told you that you need a second opinion obviously they have no clue what they are talking about. 
ERs are not friendly to early pregnancy. They always diagnose with "threatened Miscarriage" since they have to give you a diagnoses. 
Cramp is very normal. You would do best to call your OB or Midwife and tell them and have them tell you what do.

I had an ultrasound done at 5w5d and her heart hadn't started beating yet. Went in for another at 7w1d and it was beating away (she will be 3 in May).

Babies hearts don't start to form until week 6 in week 7 is when they begin to profoundly beat and week 8 is where it is visible to view the heart beating... that was terribly wrong for them to tell you that...
