yeast infection/period

So i have a yeast infection and i didnt want to have to go to the doctor for a prescription so i went and got monistat at the store (you inject cream into your vagina every night for a week before bed) and this is day 2 of treatment and i started my period and i noticed my sympotms getting worse (it was a lot better yesterday) so my question is, should i stop and wait til my period is over to continue treatment or should i keep treating it. Im not sure if my period is effecting it or not.
