9 week blood test for gender?

Who has any info on this? I heard you can find out the gender by 9 weeks with a blood test. Does it cost extra?

It's pretty pricey I hear. I know a few people who have gotten it done and their insurances did not cover it. They all spent $200-$300 out of pocket.

It depends on your insurance. I found out at 12 weeks with a blood test. It was 100% accurate.

The prices vary greatly, and it all depends on if your insurance covers (and how much they are willing to cover). I had mine with progenity and it was 100% accurate, costing only $100 (if my insurance refused to pay and with a discount added). I had help with the nurses in finding the best deals with getting my test!  I suggest looking into progenity if it is possible, I got my results back in 8 days (:

For the ones who have had the blood tests, are you getting the test done solely to find out the sex of the baby?  I had a genetic test done called Counsyl at 12 weeks and could have found out the sex of the baby then. But I had the test done because another test said I was high risk for Downs. The test would have been over $2000 if my insurance didn't cover it.  I'd love to be able to find out the sex early this time but don't wish to go through the fear that something is wrong with my baby again!
