c- section maybe??

Question

I am really scared I might have to have a c-section I am going for a scan on Tuesday to find out which position twin 1 is in and if she is head up then I will have to have a c- section, can anyone share their experiences of having a c-section, healing time,scars etc. Trying to stay positive about having a natural birth but just want to prepare myself

Just came back from my scan and twin 1 is head down so a natural birth is looking more likely but praying and thinking positivity that I have a natural birth xx

I had c-section due to position and pre-eclampsia. The worst parts forme in order were...

1) the impression booties - they were super uncomfortable ad itchy.  They leave them on until they take out the catheter and you are allowed to get up and walk around on your own. Drink lots of water as soon as they allow you too because they won't take the catheter out until you have had a certain volume of irine and until it is light yellow to clear.

2) the spinal.  The numbing medication was a little pinch and the spinal does not hurt; however, when they say you'll feel pressure  you will feel pressure and it is intense. Then the release of meds that causes that pins and needles feeling made me super woozy.

3) uterine massage - this sucks and occurs lots during your hospital stay. It happens regardless of how you deliver, only difference is that you are in the hospital longer after c-section.

Take stool softeners and stay ahead of pain meds. Get up and walk around as frequently and as much as possible. A PP girdle will help with abdominal support. Most hospitals will provide one if you ask or you can bring your own with you.

Highly recommend using depends for bleeding, comfy and loose button doe PJs (I spent my whole hospital stay in these). Slippers, and yourown comfy pillow

I had a failed induction. Babies were both head down and I was terrified of a c section! So when it was time I was wheeled to the OR sat on the edge of the bed and got the spinal block. The numbing part did hurt but the actual needle going in didn't. I didn't feel a thing! Both babies were out within 10 minutes and clean up and showed to me, we took a pic before they were taken to the NICU (born at 34+6) they closed me up and that took about 20 more minutes. After I was transferred to recovery where I stayed for an hour. In recovery I got the shakes bad and my face was so itchy! I was then transferred to my room. I just relaxed because my babies were in the NICU and went to sleep. The worst past was I had to sleep on my back! The next morning around 6 they came to wake me and go pee. The first walk is horrible but I had someone hold my hand for support. Every time you walk it gets better. It's not as bad as I thought! I also had so much gas! It's a good sign when you pass it. That day I was finally able to see my babies 😄 they wanted me to do my first walk before I could go. My recovery was great! I healed quick but stay on top of your pain medication! Seriously or you will be in pain. One nurse tries to make me wait for my Norco and I was in so much pain! Oh and ask for your pain meds 30 min before you walk, if possible! I was walking around and doing a lot on day 5 and around week 6 I was about 90% normal. My scar is my skin color and barely noticeable. I was glued with steri strips on top! Don't stress. Recovery is fast!
