Breastfeed/bottlefeed

Everyone is asking me if I'm going to bottle feed or breast feed. I tried to breast feed with my 1st daughter and I just didn't feel comfortable. I really want to try again but switch to formula before I have to go back to work. Ive heard that I can breast feed just while I'm in hospital and then switch to formula. Has anyone done that? Is it an easy transition for baby?
