am I over feeding?

So my baby is 5 days old and drinking 3-4oz of formula every 3 hours! Is this normal? I feel like he's having a lot. I don't want him to go hungry but I don't want to over feed. He's not really a sicky baby either, just a few spit ups here and there. He weighed 8lb11oz at birth and now weighing 8lb15oz

There's a simple rule you can go by. Take your babies weight and times it by 2. So, 16 oz minimum. Then, take your babies weight and times it by 2.5. So, 20 maximum per day.

My baby only drank around 2oz at that time but he was smaller.  I've heard that you can't really over feed a baby.  That you let them guide how much to give.  If they are full, they will stop feeding or spit it up.  If they root around and act hungry, feed them more.  If they spit up a lot at the end of feeds, feed them less.

When I had to stop breastfeeding (about a week old) mine has been at 3oz every three hours. Normal weight gain and everything

I think you are fine. I don't formula feed though so I am no expert. Of he isn't gassy and seems happy and doesn't spit it all up then I would say you are fine.
