Bicornuate uterus
I am a FTM but also an L&D nurse so this whole situation is oddly familiar, yet uncharted territory for me personally. Based on my LMP I'm about 6 weeks. I have had a lot of cramping and R-sided pain the past few days so I went to the ER to make sure it wasn't ectopic. Baby is in the right place and has a heartbeat (yay!!!) and the pain I'm having is from a fairly large ovarian cyst. Incidental finding from my ultrasound showed that I have a bicornuate uterus. I have no idea to what degree from the ED's radiologist, but will hopefully know more after my first OB appt next week. Because of my experience in obstetrics, of course I started getting nervous after reading that bicornuate uteruses can contribute to miscarriages, cervical incompetence, preterm labor, and breech presentation requiring c-sections. Just want to know if there are any other mamas out there with bicornuate uteruses and what your experiences have been. This is probably going to be a long week waiting for my appointment!
