what do you do? Dirty butt...NO changing table!

Question

You're in a public place, with baby in the car seat/ baby wearer and your diaper bag. There's no changing table and you can't use the seat that lays down in the stroller because you left it in the car....

Aside from the instant rage and wanting to just flip your baby's butt out on a restaurant table or counter in the store (I would never do....but would definitely love to 🤣)

How do you manage??

I have a fold out changing mat in my bag so I'd find a quiet spot and then change the baby on that. TBH my sister in law had the same thing and I used it to change her baby in all sorts of places, including on a park bench. When there aren't facilities available you gotta do what you gotta do.

Lol yes!!! It's awful. It's either change in the cold car...my daughters too big for my lap already but most toilets don't have seats so I definitely wouldn't want to sit on a open toilet in my jeans with her on my lap and I have resorted to the floor because there was no other option and dirtied up a blanket and changing mat just to make it happen. When I was breastfeeding I sat on sinks in bathrooms if they didn't have a place to sit. I never thought of it before having kids but it should be a law to have accessible and sanitary changing tables in all public places!!!!

I have a portable pad you can put down anywhere. My babe loves to shite in the car for some reason. So this happens often.

lets see, ive used a spot around the sink, back seat or front seat of a car, trunk of the car, on the floor using every barrier possible along with a changing mat of course, random chairs and counter space (some restrooms have a counter top and a mirror away from the sink but no changing table?), ive also changed her on my lap in a car...

I had to leave a restaurant and change my daughter in the car with the door open because there wasn't space with the car seat. It was 20 degrees 😠

Just happened to me on vacation. We had just started eating our appetizer, I was wearing our son and I smelled it. Took him out and it was all over him and my shirt. Went to the bathroom to clean up and there was no place to change him! I thought that was a requirement! Had to walk a long way in the heat  (we were on Tampa) to the car to clean up.  Not pleasant!

It happened to me recently in a restaurant and I asked a waitress (no car and small bathroom with no changing table...) She offered me an empty staff room with a big desk and used a changing mat. I was so grateful!!!

We change baby's nappy while she is laying on our lap. Ain't nobody got time to get up and go into a stink ass bathroom, just put these wipes and diaper in my reach and let me turn my back to potential pedophiles and continue on with my life. Being a new mother is hard enough without me giving a shit about other people's feelings.

I have used the bench seat at Wendy's before. They didn't have changing tables in the bathroom.
