Birth Plan???

Okay so I'm having my baby in April and I've asked my mom about a birth plan but she said she never had one for any of us. Because she lost her first son at 38 weeks due to a placental abruption and severe hemorrhaging. And then for both my brother and I, she was induced at 37 weeks to avoid complications. So, have any of you guys written out a birth plan? I don't really know how to or what to write or if it's really necessary. Any advice would be appreciated!! I just don't understand quite fully how all of this works lol
