Baby Name Spelling

My husband and I have been debating on the spelling of what will be our sons middle name (due in May) & i need a little help deciding. The middle name will be Nole/Noel. My dilemma is that while I love the traditional spelling of Noel I just don't want there to be any confusion with the pronunciation/confusion of the term "Noel" meaning Christmas or the girls name "Noelle". So my question is, do I play it safe & go with the spelling of Nole (like Cole) or Noel (like Joel)? Please help!
