cloth diapers pros? cons? advice please?

Looking into cloth diapering my third child. i think for the first month or so i would likely use disposables but im just looking for some advice the pros and cons and some personal experiences.

I'm actually excited to cloth diaper! 😂 We plan to use prefolds and covers. A lot of people think AIO pocket diapers are easier because, after you stuff them, they are like regular diapers. But I think that's exactly why they aren't easier. Once it's dirty, that's it. You put it in your wet bag. Then you have to make sure you buy enough to make it through until the next wash day and enough so you're not washing diaper laundry every 1 - 2 days. With prefolds and covers, you can reuse the cover a few times. I plan to register for about 40 - 50 prefolds and about 8 covers. Also, if you add them to your baby registry, not only are you saving the $3k for 3 years but you're also avoiding any up front cost....aka $0 for diapering! 😂🎉

I plan on cloth diapering! I'm really looking forward to it. Definitely look into second hand for even more savings. A friend of mine is part of a cloth diapering group on Facebook and got a TON and payed $200. We split the cost and the diapers and my stockpile is complete with the exception of needing a few more newborn size.  Also see if there's a cloth diapering class available in your area. I went a free class and learned so much on the different types. I'm going to be doing mainly fitted and all in twos. Best of luck! 😊

It does save $$ if you use them consistently and are going to keep up with laundry. If you don't have enough clothes diapers clean and dry, you end up buying pampers anyway. My SIL thought that was a great idea but she's horrible with laundry so she uses them only half the time so to me if defeats the purpose.

I have three kids, and the thought of doing more work is not appealing to me. I already have to wipe multiple butts, I don't want to have to scrape poop off of cloth and then wash it, no thanks.
