My husband, 3 kids, and I live in a different state from the majority of our family members. Our baby is 6 months old, and the majority of our relatives have not yet met him.

The kicker is this- in the 4.5 years we've lived out of state, we have been the ones to make the effort to go visit them, and we have yet to have them visit us. Now that the new baby is here, we keep getting asked, "When are you coming home so we can meet the baby?"

Uh... how about this. If you want to spend time with the baby, YOU can make some freaking effort and come see us for a change.

Really tired of people expecting maximum effort from us, but are not willing to make any effort at all, and then getting angry when we say no.

Ugh.
