progesterone or not?

Hi ladies, 
I need some help. I just did my first IUI this morning. I ovulate on my own and have normal levels of progesterone levels. My doc recommends everyone who does iui to take progesterone from day 3 postIUI till the pregnancy test in 2 weeks but she said its upto me.  I am wondering if i should. I would appreciate your experiences on this. Are there any side effects?

I was told to take it as well but I've had three unexplained miscarriages prior to doing anything fertility all by 6 weeks which suggests I may not be making enough progesterone once I become pregnant... that being said it didn't make me have any symptoms or anything so I didn't mind

Our clinic did a study last year where different groups of IVF patients received one of four treatments:

1) no progesterone 
2) oral progesterone pills
3) progesterone pill inserted vaginally
4) progesterone in oil injections

The progesterone improved pregnancy rate in group 4 more than any other. I think it's more important in an IVF cycle than iui because with IVF you are bypassing a lot of the work your body would do on its own.

My first 3 I never used it the second two I did. One of those I did get pregnant but was a chemical. I've been on PiO injections for 5 weeks now

My doctor never said that or mentioned it, but if she had I would have taken it to be on the safe side. My progesterone levels were constantly average though

There are studies that show too much progesterone in the LP can impede implantation.  Granted most of these studies are done on ivf cycles , but I would ask about that.
