Should I Find Out Gender?

I'm 16 weeks 5 Days and I haven't yet found out the gender. I don't really want to find out my mom is convincing me it's a nice surprise to wait. However my partner and friends wants to know because they want to buy for a certain gender. I have 3 weeks to decide. Any ladies who have no found out their sex ? What's it like. Is it worth the wait ??

I kind of disagree with the "let your significant other find out" comments, simply on the grounds that if he finds out, there's such a small chance that you will make it another 20 weeks without him slipping up and telling you. Only because once you know, it's REALLY hard not to use gender specific pronouns.
It's a lovely idea and all, I just think it'd be hard to call the baby by neutral nicknames and such when you know what it is.
Plus if you have a name picked already for the gender it's that much harder; and if not, picking names will kind of give it away because he'd probably be more focused on the names that would be for the specific gender.
I just can't imagine that would work lol

My husband and I decided not to find out what we were having and we are so excited.  There are so many good gender neutral items out there, and on the plus side they will all be reusable.  We plan on having a big family.  With this being our first it won't matter what gender we have next!

I'm also having my husband tell me if it's a boy or girl when s/he is born and I think that will be awesome :)

What do you want? Personally its up to my SO and I. Although my mom and sister want to find out and do a gender reveal, My SO didnt want to find out and he really wants to keep it a surprise for both of us. So we decided not to find out. Sometimes i wish i knew because i will like something and its not gender neutral, but overall its just a matter of a few more months of waiting until you have your baby. I dont care what I have i will be happy with a boy or a girl.

If you don't want to know that's fine. Your SO can always find out. Just make sure he doesn't tell you at all. And if they buy stuff for a specific gender don't let them give it to you until the baby is here.

I would tell your so that if he wants to find out then okay but not to tell you. I don't want to know my next one but my so thinks we should find out. We have three boys though and he doesn't want me to be disappointed if it's another boy.
