How much TV time does your child have?

I got told babies dont gain anything from Tv, that they dont recognise anything they just see movement. I dont agree with this as there are some cartoons that my daughter hates and will cry through, but as soon as Spongebob or Peppa Pig come on, she stops straight away and she smiles along when they talk etc and she follows where the characters walk. She is only 3 months old. She watches TV in the morning when we wake up, while I shower and get myself ready, and then she watches a little bit before bed because it makes her sleepy at nightime. Apparently this is too much? Probably an hour on/off in the morning and 20/30 mins at night but we play together the rest of the day or go out. Is this too much for a 3 month old?
