tanning oil?

Im going to ask my doctor about it at my next appointment, but have any of you used tanning oil while pregnant? I live in Florida and between the beach and my parents pool i spend a lot of time out in the sun. This winter has made me pale and with spring break coming uo in a few weeks i want to start laying out.

Be careful! The extra hormones your body is producing causes you to burn a little easier than you may have experienced before. I wouldnt recommend tanning oils for that reason, but maybe a low spf sunscreen instead? Make sure you keep your body temperature low and stay well hydrated! If you're sweating, you are too hot, so get in the pool or go in shade.

You should be minimizing your sun exposure. Not only because of the heat, but because exposure to UV rays can deplete your body of folic acid, which is essential to preventing neural tube defects. Also, try to be aware of the ingredients in cosmetics and body products. There's alot of crap chemicals out there that we shouldn't be using and probably best to avoid during pregnancy.

It's fine to use tanning oil but make sure you stay hydrated. Keep a spray bottle full of water next to you and keep some cold waters close. I went to Florida in June 2015 I was 8 months pregnant and used tanning oil. I was fine and the baby was fine. Staying hydrated it the key.

Tanning oil would be fine , what doctor's worry about is "overheating " the extreme rise in body temperature can be harmful to baby, so if you do lay out stay hydrated and cool as much as possible to keep your temperature down.
