What happened to respect???

Some members of eve have really been disappointing and I've been disgusted by the rude remarks made to others on almost every post I've seen. I don't know what happened to being respectful but it seems to have disappeared. When has being hateful and rude to one another became cool? I don't understand why people have to be rude when answering a question...am I the only one that has seen an issue with this?
